Vegan-Friendly Restaurants in Montreal

Yokato Yokabai

Plateau
4185 R. Drolet, Montréal, QC H2W 2L5

The famous and best ramen spot in Montreal, with other Japanese specialties. Get into the cozy vibe of the space right when you enter the discreet door. You can see the kitchen when you’re eating, and the place feels out of time. Victim of their success, it always gets busy, and they don’t take reservations; you’d better go early to get on the waiting list and grab a drink around to wait.

ChuChai

Plateau

4088 R. Saint-Denis, Montréal, QC H2W 2M5

Vegan Thai dishes refined, tasty, and comforting. My favorites are the spicy eggplants with basil (Pad Makere) and their crispy vegan duck with spinach (Ped Palo), so impressive! I recommend sharing a few items; there are plenty of things to try! They have a great outdoor area for the beautiful days; enjoy it.

Sumac

Saint-Henri

 3618 R. Notre Dame O, Montréal, QC H4C 1P5

The best Middle Eastern food I’ve had, hands down. I always get the plate with the delicious falafels, the dreamy hummus, the fluffy pitas, and two choices of tasty salads. It will leave your belly full and happy, and the prices are very reasonable. Note that they are closed on weekends.

Sushi Momo

Plateau

3609 Rue Saint-Denis, H2X 3L6

Sushi lovers will adore this place. Original, flavorful, and generous, the pieces on the menu are perfect for sharing with a date or a few friends. The place is modern, elegant, and uncluttered. Christian Ventura invites us into this vegan Japanese heaven. It’s pretty popular, so book at least a week in advance.

Hanzō Izakaya

Old Montreal

417 Rue Saint-Nicolas, H2Y 2P4

Another very good Japanese restaurant; Elevated menu with an excellent cocktail list. The place draws inspiration from the movie Kill Bill with great decor inside. It sets the darker night vibe for dinners, and they open the terrace on warmer days. Yummy, fun, and affordable; A great place to spend the evening.

Babacool

Old Montreal

140 R. Notre Dame O, H2Y 1T1

Trendy, modern, and good vibes; Babacool is the spot for having drinks and sharing some Middle Eastern food with friends. I really enjoy their roasted carrots with pumpkin seeds and the tahini cream, so delicious.
